Printify in Europe: EU print providers, shipping, customs and GPSR
What selling to customers in the EU and the UK through Printify involves: where the order is made, what it costs to ship, the EU customs charges that changed in 2026, VAT, and the GPSR responsible person every EU listing needs.
Printify makes an EU order in the EU only when the seller picks an EU print provider or turns on its Global Fulfillment or Order Routing. 4 of its print providers make the Bella+Canvas 3001 T-shirt in the EU; the cheapest costs $17.61 delivered to Germany, against $23.61 from the cheapest provider outside the EU before the €3 duty and €2 handling fee. Unlike Printful and Gelato, Printify gives no EU responsible person for GPSR: a seller outside the EU appoints its own.
Printify print providers in the EU
Printify has no factories of its own: each product is made by the print provider the seller picks. Some of its providers print inside the EU, but most print in the US.
For four best-selling garments, these are the Printify print providers with a facility in the EU (Czech Republic, France, Germany, Latvia and Spain), each with what it charges for the garment and to ship it to Germany, and the cheapest provider outside the EU for comparison. The cheapest EU-made total is in bold.

The EU's new customs charges, and who pays them
From Jul 1, 2026
Since July 1, 2026 a parcel worth under €150 that reaches an EU customer from outside the EU pays a flat €3 customs duty for each kind of item in it (each customs tariff heading), where it used to pay none. It is an interim rule until July 1, 2028, when the EU's customs data hub is due to replace it with normal tariffs.

From Nov 1, 2026
Since November 1, 2026 every online order shipped to an EU customer from outside the EU also pays a €2 handling fee for each different item in the parcel (identical items count once), whatever the order is worth. The business that files the customs declaration pays it and may pass it on, and it is not refunded, even for faulty goods.

At Printify
An order made by an EU provider ships inside the EU and pays neither charge. An order made outside the EU carries the €3 duty introduced in July and, from November 1, 2026, the €2 handling fee. Printify states that it collects and handles the handling fee, so customers are not charged it separately before their parcel arrives, that it covers that fee itself through the end of 2026, and that shipping prices on these EU orders will rise in early 2027 to cover it. For other charges on arrival, its help center says Printify is not responsible for customs fees and advises picking a provider in the customers' region.

VAT
EU VAT is charged on every order, wherever it is made. An order made inside the EU pays the VAT of the customer's country; an order imported from outside the EU and worth under €150 has its VAT collected when it is bought, through the EU's Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS), so the customer pays nothing more at the door for VAT. Printify charges VAT on every order shipped to the EU, the UK and Norway, and uses its own IOSS number for imports under €150 (it cannot take a seller's or Etsy's IOSS number). On Etsy that means an EU order made in the US is taxed twice: Etsy collects VAT from the buyer and Printify charges the seller VAT on the production and shipping cost. Printify suggests raising prices for EU buyers by about 21 to 25% to absorb it.

Printify and the GPSR responsible person
Since December 13, 2024 the EU's General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requires every listing that sells to customers in the EU or Northern Ireland to show the name, postal address and email of a responsible business established in the EU, with the product's identification and safety information. A seller based outside the EU cannot use its own address, and marketplaces such as Etsy, Amazon and eBay may hide or remove listings without it.
Printify gives no responsible person to list. A seller based outside the EU has to appoint a business established in the EU (an EU partner or an authorized representative appointed in writing) and enter its name, postal address and email in Printify's store settings; Printify then adds each product's safety details to the listing description when the GPSR box is ticked, and its own name never appears. Etsy, Amazon and eBay have their own GPSR fields that need filling in too.

Printify and UK customers
Several Printify providers print in the UK, and Printify Choice Global Fulfillment makes its six garments locally there too. GPSR also applies to orders shipped to Northern Ireland. The UK is outside the EU, so a UK-made order shipped to an EU customer is an import there and pays the EU charges above.

Printify in Europe, answered
- Does Printify have print providers in Europe?
- Yes, some. For the Bella+Canvas 3001 T-shirt, Atelier Katanga (France), Textildruck Europa (Germany), OPT OnDemand (Czech Republic) and Printful (Latvia and Spain) print it inside the EU, out of 19 providers that make it. An EU order is made in the EU only if the seller picked an EU print provider, or turned on Printify Choice Global Fulfillment (six best-selling garments, for Etsy and Shopify, made locally in the EU, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia) or Order Routing (moves a one-item international order to a closer provider, within a cost limit the seller sets). Printify recommends a provider in the same region as most of the customers.
- Does Printify provide an EU representative for GPSR?
- No.
- What is the best Printify alternative for selling in Europe?
- Within Printify, an EU print provider avoids the EU's import charges and the higher shipping from outside the EU (for the Bella+Canvas 3001 T-shirt, Atelier Katanga at $17.61 delivered to Germany). Outside it, Printful makes EU orders in its own facilities in Latvia and Spain, and both Printful and Gelato give sellers outside the EU a responsible person to list for GPSR, which Printify does not.
- How much is Printify shipping to Europe?
- It depends on the print provider. For the Bella+Canvas 3001 T-shirt to Germany, standard shipping of the first item costs $3.89 from Atelier Katanga in France, inside the EU, and $11.29 from Shirt Monkey in the United Kingdom, the cheapest from outside it, read from Printify's catalog on Nov 2, 2026.
- Why do Printify and Etsy both charge VAT on EU orders?
- Printify charges VAT on every order shipped to the EU, the UK and Norway, and uses its own IOSS number for imports under €150 (it cannot take a seller's or Etsy's IOSS number). On Etsy that means an EU order made in the US is taxed twice: Etsy collects VAT from the buyer and Printify charges the seller VAT on the production and shipping cost. Printify suggests raising prices for EU buyers by about 21 to 25% to absorb it.
- Who pays the EU's 2026 customs duty and handling fee on Printify orders?
- Since July 1, 2026 a parcel worth under €150 shipped to an EU customer from outside the EU pays €3 customs duty for each kind of item in it. Since November 1, 2026 every such online order also pays a €2 handling fee for each different item, whatever its value.
